Just a few miles from Cairns, Kewarra Beach has become one of the most sought after locations for property purchases in Queensland in recent years. History

Like nearby Trinity Beach and other suburbs of Cairns, Kewarra Beach was only recently developed and leans towards holiday accommodation. It was originally used for growing sugar cane and is connected to Cairns via the Captain Cook Highway.

Proper development of the Kewarra Beach we know today only truly began in the 80s and 90s. Since then, it has become a popular location to set up a home and now boasts a population of just over 5,000.

What’s So Great About Kewarra Beach?

If you like golden beaches and clear blue seas, then Kewarra Beach is the perfect place to settle down. Just a few miles from the busier Cairns city where there are plenty of job opportunities, there are numerous places to walk including the popular Pelican Park that is close to the beach. With the Barrier Reef nearby as well as Kuranda National Park, there’s a lot to keep active families and young professionals occupied.

Shopping in Kewarra Beach can be limited but with Cairns just a 30-minute trip away along the Captain Cook Highway, you have access to all the major stores you could want. There are some great restaurants and cafes in the area and they are normally very busy, catering to the visiting tourists and locals.

There are 7 schools in the region and they offer all levels of education which makes this a great location to bring up a family. Various sports clubs cater for people of every age, including the Trinity Beach Sports Club that has an onsite bar and restaurant.
